Margaret Harris

Foundation Degree In Mental Health

“The University Centre has been brilliant for me, I got full support during my two years as I am Autistic, the tutors are very good at delivering the modules on the course.

I really enjoyed learning about aspects of mental health and mental illness, which is a wide topic.

My key achievements have been doing the presentations, which have really bought me out of my comfort zone, also getting feedback off my tutors which has help me to achieve my goals.

The things that I’m most proud about are, passing all my modules and being able to deliver presentations in front of people. The degree has give me confidence in voicing my opinions on topics concerning mental health. I am a proud person.

I have a lot to offer people despite my disability. The degree has made me more confident. I want to help people who are suffering from mental health problems, helping them to have a better life, by promoting better wellbeing for them. Also to complete my Samaritan training and be a good listener, helping people without being judgemental.”
